Bread Bajji / Bread Pakora

A cup of masala tea and bread pakora makes a perfect sunday evening with family.
I always loved bread snacks that amma prepared for me n my brother after school hours . As usual, I’ve added some extra ingredients to amma’s recipe checking out from the internet. Here it goes:


Ingredients :

1. Bread – 4 to 5 slices of the regular bread size.
2. Rice flour – 1/4 cup
3. Besan – 1/2 cup
4.Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
5. Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
6.salt to taste
7. Cooking soda – 2 big pinches
8. Oil for frying.


Trim the edges of the breads and cut them diagonally / vertically as per your preference. Keep this aside.

Take a bowl and add rice flour, besan, red chilli powder ,ginger garlic paste and salt .Mix well and add sufficient water to prepare the batter.then, add cooking soda. The batter consistency should be thicker than the dosa batter you prepare. Kindly check that it should not be too runny else the batter will not stick to the bread properly.

Heat oil. Dip each slice of bread in the batter on both the sides.Then, fry this on medium flame till both sides turn golden. Drain them onto a tissue paper and serve hot with tomato chilli ketchup.
