Simple n Basic Vanilla Cake – Microwave Recipe


                       Till date there has been only one baking recipe in my blog. I’ve been getting mails on ‘why no baking recipes’. Finally, I have started my experiments in baking too. Well…as a beginner I would like to try out the basic ones first n then move to the next level.

Here is the recipe of a very basic n simple vanilla cake recipe that has been baked in a microwave.

Preparation time: 15 to 20 min

Cooking Time: 20 min

Serves : 4 to 5

Ingredients:

1. Eggs – 2 large

2. Powdered sugar – 1/2 cup

3. Maida – 1/2 cup

4. Baking powder – 1 tsp

5. Milk – 1/4 cup

6. Oil – 1/2 cup

7. Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

Method:

Sift the flour with baking powder and keep aside.

Beat the eggs and sugar till the eggs turn fluffy and the mixture becomes more than double the volume. Add essence to this.

Add oil to the beaten egg – sugar mixture in the bowl. Mix well.

Fold in flour gradually till all the flour is used. Add milk to get a slightly thinner than a soft dropping consistency.

Grease a deep bowl. Pour the batter into it. Microwave it uncovered for 4 minutes. Do not microwave for a longer time even if the surface of the cake does not feel firm and it appears wet after 4 minutes. Let it stand for 4-5 minutes. Let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes before removing from baking dish.

Simple Veg Cake (eggless)


This is one of d simplest cakes I’ve evr known….best4 beginners. kudos to my aunt…

Ingredients:

1. 3/4 cup oil

2.1 cup – curd(sour)

3.1 cup sugar

4.Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

5.Soda Bicarbonate(Cooking Soda) – 1tsp (pls check that the amount does not increase even a bit)

6.Cocoa – 8tsp

7.Maida – 1 3/4 cup

8.Coffee powder (optional) – 1 tsp

9.Rum/Whisky(optional) – 1tsp

10.Milk(depending on the thickness) – 5tblsp

Method:

Firstly, blend oil,curd and sugar in a single direction. Mix vanilla,cooking soda,cocoa and maida very well.Mix all others and Bake them in an oven for 7 min.

Note:

After baking do not touch the cake for a few minutes. Kindly do not use oils like Til . Normal oil is preferable.
