Paneer Capsicum Tomato Sandwich

 Paneer capsicum tomato sandwich is a very simple n easy recipe to prepare. This is a tasty and crispy dish which is a filling snack that the kids are sure to love.

1. Capsicum, finely chopped – 1/2 cup

2. Tomato, finely chopped – 1/2 cup

3. Paneer, grated or finely chopped – 1 cup

4. Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

5. Salt – to taste

6. Mozzarella cheese – 1 tbsp

7. Cheese slices – 2

8. Butter – 2 tsp

9. Sandwich bread – 4 slices

Take a bowl, add chopped paneer, chopped capsicum, chopped tomato, pepper, salt, mozzarella cheese and mix well.

Now, spread this mixture on a bread slice and place a cheese slice on it. Keep another bread slice on top and spread little butter on top. Grill the bread and when once done cut into half and serve hot with any sauce of your choice.

Tomato Rasam

Tomato Rasam or Tomato Chaaru is one of the South Indian soups which can easily be prepared in no time. Tastes good when taken as a soup or with rice.

Preparation Time : upto 15 min

Cooking time : upto 20 min


1. Tomatoes – 3

2. Rasam powder – 1/ 4 tsp

3. Coriander Leaves, chopped – fistful

4. Green Chillies – 4

5. Tamarind – marble sized.

6. Dry red chillies – 1 to 2

7. Garlic ,crushed – 4 pods big sized

8. Turmeric powder – a big pinch

9. Water – 4 cups

10 . Seasoning :

Mustard Seeds / Aavalu – 1 tsp

Jeera / Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp

Karvepak / Curry leaves – 1 big sprig


Cut tomatoes and boil  well. In between add the tamarind piece and boil well again.

Keep aside and allow it to cool. Once done, mash the tomato and make a puree or whip it in a mixie. Dont blend the mixture too much and make it too watery.

Take a pan, add seasoning and fry little. Then add garlic pods, dry red chillies, green chillies and turmeric powder . Mix well. To this add the puree like mixture , water, salt and rasam powder .

Bring it to boil. Boil on a low flame for about 10 minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.

Tomato Rice


1. Basmati Rice – 1 cup
2.Tomatoes chopped- 3 to 4
3.Onion sliced – 1 medium
4.Green chilies slit – 4
5.Red Chilly powder  – 1/2 tsp
6.Turmeric /haldi – less than 1/2 tsp
7.Ginger grated – 1 small piece
8.Garlic crushed – 2 flakes
9.Cloves – 2
10.Cinnamon – 1/2 inch piece
11.Cardamons -2
12.Oil – 2 tbsp


Wash and soak rice for 15 minutes in water. Drain water and keep it aside.

In a frying pan, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamon and saute for a minute.  Add ginger & garlic to it, fry for a minute and add green chilies and onions.  Fry till onion turns light brown. Add chopped tomatoes to it. Then add salt, chilly powder and turmeric to it.

After tomatoes are well cooked for about 5minutes, add rice to it and stir for  2 minutes.

Lastly, add 1 1/2 to 2 cups water and pressure cook the  rice .

Munagakaya n tomato curry (Drumstick n tomato curry)

This is a tangy Andhra recipe cooked in tomato gravy. This recipe is so simple n easy that bachelors n beginners would lov to try this. This curry got well with rice.
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 20 min

1. Munagakaya (cut into even pieces) – 3

2. Onions chopped- 2

3. Green chillies chopped- 3

4. Tomato chopped – 4

5. Salt – according to taste.

6. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

7. Red chilli powder – 2 tsp

8. Tamarind(lemon size) – soak in 1 glass water and squeeze.


On Low flame,fry onions and green chillies till pink.

Then add tomatoes and then munagakaya. Close the lid and see that it is boiled well.

Then add salt, turmeric powder ,red chilli powder and tamarind water . Mix well.

Close the lid and allow it to boil very well again. Once, the desired consistency is seen switch off the flame and add chopped coriander before serving.

Tomato Pappu(Tomato Dal)


1. Muddapappu –
For preparing MuddaPappu, take 1/2 rice cup Kandipappu/toor dal and 1 rice cup water. Cook in Pressure cooker till its soft and mushy.
2. Tomatoes – 7 big
3. Green chillies – 4
4. Red Chillies (Dry) – 2 to 3
5. Tamarind – about 4 inch
6. Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
7. Turmeric – little less than 1/2 tsp
8.Mustard seeds / aavalu – 1/2 tsp
9.Curry Leaves / Karvepaku – 2 sprigs
10. Oil – 2 tbsp
11. Garlic (crushed)- 6
12.Jeera / Cumin seeds – 1 tsp


Firstly, prepare ‘Mudda Pappu’ and keep aside.
On high flame, heat oil and add Garlic, Jeera, Dry Red mirchi, Mustard Seeds, and curry leaves.
Fry little and immeiately add the chopped tomatoes along with chopped green chillies.Mix well.
Now , add turmeric and salt. Mix well again and close the lid.
After about 2 to 3min , reduce the flame to LOW.
After it gets cooked well, add tamarind water. Then, add the Mudda Pappu mixture and mix well. Allow it to boil well andServe hot.

Tomato curry

This is one of the most simplest curries that can be prepared in no time. This tastes very delicious n is one of my favourites.

1. Onion – chopped
2. Green Chillies – 3 to 4
3.Curry Leaves – few
4. Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
5. Turmeric – pinch
6. Salt – As required.
7. Dhaniya powder – 1/2 tsp
8. Tomatoes – 4
9. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
10. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
11. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp (or as required).

Heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds. Once, they splutter add onions, green chillies, curry leaves. Fry them till they turn a lil more than light pink.
Then, add a pinch of turmeric and ginger garlic paste. Close the lid and after a minute add the chopped tomatoes and allow it to boil for 8 to 10 min. Keep mixing in between. If required add little water.
Then, add red chilli powder,Dhaniya powder,salt (approx 2 tsp). Mix well and after a minute switch off the flame and garnish with kottameer.
